About Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga
Omkareshwar sits on the Mandhata island in the Narmada river — an island that, viewed from above, takes the precise shape of the sacred syllable 'Om'. Two Jyotirlingas — Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar — sit on either bank of the river, completing the spiritual circuit.
The 1,100-year-old temple's spire towers above the river, and the parikrama walk around the island is one of the most peaceful pilgrim routes in India.
We include priest-led darshan at both Linga shrines, a private boat across the Narmada, and the river-aarti at Gomukh Ghat.
