The itinerary

7 days, written slowly.

  1. Day 01
    N°01

Arrival in Paro & Drive to Thimphu

Arrive into the Himalayan kingdom — by a scenic flight into Paro or overland via Phuentsholing — and transfer to the capital, Thimphu. Settle in and take an evening walk through the only capital in the world without traffic lights, where monks in maroon robes and prayer wheels set a serene, timeless mood.

  2. Day 02
    N°02

    Thimphu Sightseeing

A full day in Thimphu visits the ever-circled Memorial Chorten, the towering 51 m golden Buddha Dordenma overlooking the valley, the Takin preserve home to Bhutan's curious national animal, and the magnificent Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery that houses the throne room and government offices.

  3. Day 03
    N°03

    Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula

Cross the cloud-wreathed Dochula Pass, crowned by 108 memorial chortens and, on clear days, a sweeping Himalayan panorama. Descend into the warm Punakha valley to the breathtaking Punakha Dzong at the river confluence and walk one of Bhutan's longest suspension bridges fluttering with prayer flags.

  4. Day 04
    N°04

    Punakha to Paro

Journey back toward Paro, stopping at the hilltop Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple dedicated to the 'Divine Madman', reached on a gentle walk through rice fields and a village. Arrive in Paro for an evening at leisure, with an optional traditional hot-stone bath to soothe travel-weary muscles.

  5. Day 05
    N°05

    Tiger's Nest Hike

The tour's spiritual highlight: a memorable hike up to the Taktsang Monastery, the 'Tiger's Nest', clinging miraculously to a sheer cliff 900 m above the valley floor. The climb through pine forest and prayer flags rewards you with one of the most awe-inspiring sights in all the Himalaya.

  6. Day 06
    N°06

    Paro Valley & Culture

Explore the Paro valley at a gentler pace — the imposing Rinpung Dzong, the National Museum in the round Ta Dzong watchtower, and the 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples. An evening archery demonstration showcases the kingdom's lively national sport.

  7. Day 07
    N°07

    Departure

After a final Bhutanese breakfast, transfer to Paro airport (or overland to Phuentsholing) for your onward journey, leaving the Land of the Thunder Dragon with a deep sense of peace.
