About Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga
Perched on the Srisailam plateau above the Krishna river, Mallikarjuna is the only Jyotirlinga where Lord Shiva is worshipped together with Goddess Parvati (as Bhramaramba) — making it both a Jyotirlinga and a Shaktipeetha. The seventh-century Vijayanagara-era complex is famed for its intricate stone carvings and the spiritually charged forest that surrounds it.
The temple's name combines 'Mallika' (jasmine, Parvati's offering) and 'Arjuna' (Shiva's epithet) — a fitting symbol of divine union.
