About this itinerary

A shimmering thousand-square-kilometre lagoon that hosts over a million migratory birds every winter. Chilika is a wildlife, photography and slow-travel paradise — spot rare Irrawaddy dolphins, sail to pilgrimage islands like Kalijai, and end your day at the picturesque Satapada fishing village.

Chilika Lake is one of Asia's most important wintering grounds for migratory birds from Siberia, Iran, Iraq and Central Asia — with over 160 species recorded. Between November and February, the waters turn into a living canvas of pink flamingos and white-bellied sea eagles.

Your two days here weave together temple darshan at Maa Kalijai island, dolphin spotting at Satapada, and a sunset sail to the deserted golden shores of Rambha.

Perfect for birders, couples, photographers, and slow travellers.
