Similipal is not a zoo drive. We hold the permit, the forest rest, and a naturalist who does not shout.
From Baripada or Keonjhar, a private car, two safari windows, and an evening that smells of sal and woodsmoke.

Drive to the buffer. Evening briefing with the naturalist and a simple forest dinner.

Dawn drive into the core ranges. Afternoon at a waterfall. Night in the forest rest.

A second safari window, then a quiet village walk at the edge of the reserve.
